Quick Darling Girl Halloween Swatches

 

Chances are you've already seen swatches of the DG Halloween collection, but I decided to swatch my sample set anyway, in attempt to help me decide on which shades to order full sizes of.

Top row: crypt keeper, pumpkin eater, bats and belfry, witch & famous, zombody to love, pretty plasma

Bottom row: jack’s latern, thriller, apparition, dream scream, ghostlight, will-o-whisp, candy corn, corpse candle

 

Bats in the Belfry is slightly more brown than Crypt Keeper, Zombody to love is a gorgeous denim-blue with gold sparkles, Pretty Plasma has black glitter. Jack's Lantern is probably my favorite shade of the bunch, I love it as a quick eyeliner. Dream Scream has awesome red sparkles, and Will-O-Wisp and Corpse Candle make an amazing blush/highlight combo!

 

I got my braces off today!! It feels very strange, and I constantly catch my self tonguing over my teeth. It will take some getting used to! I'm wearing Jack's Lantern as a eyeliner, Poison Plum on my lips mixed with Shiro Cosmetics Yo Dawg lip balm.

Heartsy: Brazen Cosmetics

I recieved my Heartsy order with Brazen Cosmetics today! It's been a while since I've had an order, so I was very excited to recieve this one. Sandi is still working on getting the website up and running, but for now you can check out Brazen on either Etsy or Artfire. don't stop - dark, shimmery taupe (my favorite of this bunch!)

prude - light lavender

scorching - hard to describe... I will use this as a highlight/accent shade, especially in my tearduct.

 

prowl - rustic sort of orange, perfect for fall

pharoah - combo between an olive green and gold

cali girl bronzer - light brown, shimmery bronze

alchemy passion pot  - wearable gold!

I love fall, and I'm excited to wear olives, oranges & golds. Don't stop! will go perfect with Prowl or Pharaoah, which have to be my favorites of this order. Alchemy I was originally on the fence on, because it seems so much darker in the listing. It is such a beautiful shade, and would be perfect over a nude lip.

Darling Girl: First thoughts

I received my order from Darling Girl Cosmetics today! This is my first purchase with DG, so I was very excited to recieve it and get swatching. I placed an order a few weeks ago, when the TAT was 10-12 days. My order was shipped after 12 days. Everything was well packaged; my purchases were wrapped in the pretty pink paper, and a couple of sweet freebies/GWP's in the other!

I've been checking out the Facebook page every now and then, as Susan posts upcoming & new product photos regularly. I've asked a few questions on the page, and she has always been very quick to respond. I highly recommend giving DG a try! I plan on ordering some of her glosses on my next order.

Free gifts! The GWP blush is a very generous size as well.

My complete purchase. The mini jars, or Petits as they are called by DG, are 2.00, and the samples were .60 each! Their prices are very affordable, even with the recent announcement of an *slight* increase. The prices are very competitive, with sample portions being more than Meow's 1/6 tsp size, at less cost.

I can't wait to try out the Fantasia blush, it looks like a very interesting duochrome and it blended well on my hand. I will be needing full sizes of Plum Blossoms, Falling Leaves, Purin & Mustang. They are all very interesting, unique shades, which I can't wait to show you in upcoming FOTDS.

Brazen Cosmetics: My one true love

Yippie! My latest Brazen order finally arrived! It was packaged up in a tiny box with cute red tissue paper. I ordered lipglosses during the 3/$11 deal on facebook in Muse, Conflict, Heiress. I also picked up Make Out, sample packs of the Valentines Day eyeshadow collections (one of which is now part of Brazen's regular line because they were so popular!)

More goodies! Sandi included a solid perfume version of my favorite perfume from her, Coca cupcake! It smells delicious. I wear this on an almost daily basis, it's a very comforting and foody scent.

Eyeshadow samples! The sample sets come packed up seperately in their own little baggies with stickers!

As always, the ingredients are all listed on the products; even on sample baggies! Cocoa Loco is one of Brazen's lip scrubs, it smells like chocolate and is delicious! I'll admit to tasting some when scrubbing my lips earlier.

Sandi scent me a sample of her popcorn scent with my last order, so I asked to try some of her little soaps in the scent. It's a really strange scent, I mean, I first thought "Who want's to smell like popcorn?" It's quite interesting, there's a mixture of both sweet and salty with a buttery undernote...yumm. The tiny size works out well too, I can just use 1-2 with each shower. The other sample is of her Cinniamon bun scent, which of course, smells EXACTLY like fresh baked cinnamon buns!

Evil Shades Order

I placed two orders with Evil Shades a couple of months ago during sales they were having. After waiting a little under a month for my orders which were shipped together, I contacted Andrea about it. She *very* kindly reshipped both my orders, and it arrived today! Thanks again, Andrea! :)
Shipping took a little under two weeks to reach Canada. I still have not received my other package. Lately i'm beginning to think there is something wrong with the post office; mail has been even slower than usual (almost like holiday shipping time) and i'm still waiting on quite a few packages. Evil Shades: Pin Up Girls Swatches

I received my order from Evil Shades today! It was placed on the 21st of Jan and shipped on the 3rd of Feb. Which is weird, because i'm still waiting on two orders which were shipped Jan 10th. Customs must be swatching my order...
I ordered the Pin Up Girls collection in sample sizes, Push lipgloss, and a few other eyeshadow samples.

Limited edition Push lipgloss! The color is quite nice, a coral which is perfect for spring.Yum! The gloss itself is very moisturizing and non-sticky.

Most of my samples were filled to the top, but they were quite varied. Y'know how some companies make eyeshadows with glitter that is hardly visible? The red glitter in this is ACTUALLY present, and visibly shows up when swatched!

nightshade - bright purple.... Yes, let me tell you, this color is bright. The clamshell was packed almost full, and silly me, I sat swatching these in my living room. I spilled my sample ALL over my living room floor.. Thank goodness I managed to get it out. I scrubbed with a kitchen cleansing spray for quite some time. Probably going to get another sample of this with my next order, it is a pretty shade.

backtalk blush - bright pink with golden shimmer; less hot pink than I was expecting, this is totally wearable!

silk stockings lipstick - lighter than it appears here. It's a little darker than the Bombshell eyeshadow.

push lipgloss - coral gloss

My favorites are Whsiper, Wink, Bombshell, and Wyvern! I'm really excited to try the lighter shades out as lipcolors or as a blush. Bombshell is a really pretty neutral, and I plan on wearing Silk Stockings tomorrow. I'm not a fan of matte shades, but i'm thinking of trying the neons over some other shadows, to make them appear brighter!

Hi-Fi Zodiac Collection Swatches

I received my sample order from Hi-Fi Cosmetics that I placed on Jan.07/11 today. The TAT was insane before Veronica closed up shop for her move, but the wait was worth it. The set of 12 sample eyeshadows was 8.99, and Veronica had a 10% off coupon when I ordered. She included two free eyeshadow samples, eye glitz in new age sample, and the high impact shadow fix sample! Overall I really like this collection of shadows, all the colors seem to compliment eachother and there's quite a few combos i've been considering, based on these photos alone.

gift from virgo - looks white in the bag, but applies to a shimmery pale pink, would make a nice highlight/accent on tearduct

three libras - pale taupe with silver sparkles

tropic of cancer - pink-purple with purple and silver sparkle

queen of disaster - medium bright blue with silver sparkle

wanted - darker, more warm version of leo

new age eye glitz - green, lime green and blue sparkle

My favorites of the bunch are dark star capricorn, journey of a gemini, leo lord of lights, gift from virgo, three libras. I think i'm going to need a full size of Three Libras, it looks like the perfect everyday/neutral shade. I also really want to try sunrise in aries mixed with a peach lipgloss, It's a lot more of a coral color than it appears in some of the photos.

Now for the eye primer, quite a few people compare it to Fyrinnae's pixie epoxy. I applied a pea sized amount, & I found that the shadows applied easier (will have to see how it works for blending shadows later) but it defintely stained as others have mentioned! It is very thick, and when I went to wash it off, the shadows smeard in the direcion I washed, hardly moving at all. I had to scrub my hand for a good couple of minutes to get the shadow all off and my hand still felt sticky afterwards. My hand is now red and a little sore, so i'm a little hesitant to try this on my eyes. Have you tried the High Impact shadow fix?

Brazen Cosmetics Review

My package from Sandi of Brazen Cosmetics's arrived today! I have some more items on their way, but I wanted to do a more "in depth" review. I know there are a lot of people hesitant to order from Brazen; the previous cApS in the shop, and the fact that they're still a relatively new company. I became fairly good friends with Sandi over facebook, but I continue to purchase her products because I honestly believe they are excellent quality, very affordable, and her customer service is amazing. I have yet to find a shade/product I did'nt like. Also, every product is sealed and carefully packed, I have never had an item leak/spill during shipment. Sample sizes are available in just about any product you could imagine, and if not, she would be happy to create a custom listing for you!
I purchased full sizes in Perfect 10 blush as I had ran out of my sample, Paparazzi glitter gel, Twisted eyeshadow, my foundation, Strut/Jaded pressed shadow, and three perfumes.

Evil Shades swatches & Review

I purchased some evil shades shadows during the Buy 2 get 1 free in December! I ordered on the 19th and my order shipped on the 29th, the TAT was 10 days at the time PLUS it was right before Christmas.

I ordered eyeshadows in Zombie, Coffin, Necropolis, a sample blush of Gossamer and received a free sample of deviant lipstick in Bane. Click the cut for more photos! :)

Morgana Cryptoria Haul

My first ever order from Morgana! There's been a ton of praise over the net for their vegan lipsticks, so when the Black Friday sale was announced, I was super excited to place a order. It did take quite some time for the orders to ship (i am just receiving my order today.) But there was a fair warning, and i'm guessing there were a crazy amount of orders she had to fill! As a one woman show, i'm still impressed. I also have to say that her customer service is excellent; I contacted her about my order not showing up on the site, and she was *extremely* quick to reply and fix the bug. I ordered 5 full sized eyeshadows as they were half price, and four lip products. I did not receive any samples.

Reindeer games has totally visible green sparkles, o christmas tree is green with red sparkles! This would have made an awesome FOTD for christmas!


Dream by the fire is more of a reddish brown with sparkle, yuletide carols is like a metallic chocolate brown. Jingle Bell Rock and Silent Night both have crazy sparkles as well!

Morning Gold and the remainder of the swatches were sent as free samples! Thanks Veronica! Suicide Trees is going to be a new favorite. I can't wait to try this out with a smokey eye!
 
I purchased the Holiday sampler pack during the Black Friday sale (along with three of the halloween eyeshadows as they were 40% off!) and my only beef is how long it took to get these babies shipped. I placed my order in the early morning on BF, and just received them today. The TAT was supposed to be ~10 days, but it did take much longer. Hi-Fi's internet was also down in December, and I never received an notification when my package was shipped. I do think Veronica underestimated the amount of sales she would have! I will continue to order from Hi-Fi, but she is still quite backed up on etsy so sadly i won't be ordering until the TAT goes down.

I purchased some mini pots from Brazen earlier in paradox, goosebump and dazed (first three on the top) and was sent the others as samples!

Dazed is definitely my favorite of the bunch! Perfect 10 is similiar to Nars Orgasm, but with WAY more gold sparkle and shine! All that charisma is missing is some irridescent glitter. ;)
